Supervision

What is supervision?

The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) stipulates that all counsellors and psychotherapists are required to have a minimum of one and half hours of casework supervision every month. Other professional bodies also have similar requirements and similarly there is also a requirement for supervisors to particiate in supervisory supervision.

The main aim of supervision is to help your counsellor to offer you the best possible therapeutic experience. Supervision provides an opportunity for the therapist to reflect on their practice and to get another person's insight into what may be happening. It also incorporates elements of mentoring, professional development and safeguarding practice. As your counsellor I would be required under BACP guidelines to participate in such supervision sessions.

What Can I offer?

I am able to offer one-to-one and group supervision upon request for counsellors, psychotherapists and selected professions. My fees for supervision will depend upon the number of supervisees but generally for one-to-one supervision the fee is £50 for a 60 minute session. If you would like to consider me as a supervisor, please call me on 01525 791311 / 07956 573975 or email me at annette@annettepipertherapy.com and I would be pleased to discuss your situation and requirements.
